National Biodiversity Strategy Action Plan (NBSAP) Project : Workshop Menongue, Kuando-Kubango .

July 2006 - The development of six thematic studies on the status of biodiversity in Angola was finalized. These focused on terrestrial and marine biodiversity, environmental legislation and human resources, effects of demography and socio-economic indicators, biodiversity projects and programmes as traditional practices on the use of natural resources. The result of the six thematic studies and the recommendations were presented and discussed in the first national workshop in Luanda (on 6 and 7 July) and involved over 100 participants representing the government, civil society and private sector.

These regional workshops provided additional inputs on the studies and made more recommendations to be included in the strategy. The workshop in Menongue was the last of a series of the referred seven workshops.

The workshop took place at the Provincial Government facilities and the Vice-governor opened the workshop, and participated in the thematic studies presentation.
