Luanda, 29 February 2012 – The Angola education minister, Pinda Simão, has highlighted the importance of the workshop on the techniques for reformulation of the strategic plan, taking into account the re-launch of the executive plan of support to young people.

The official said so at the opening act of the workshop on the national consultation for the revision of the strategic plan of fight against HIV/AIDS with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The minister calls on young people to have an exemplar behavior in regard to the mentioned illness that has been killing many people, representing a serious threat to national security and the future of the humanity.

"Like the young people’s problems, matters related to HIV/AIDS are a pillar of national interest and a strategic priority of the Angolan executive", he said.

Angola has only 1.9 per cent of HIV/AIDS prevalence among the countries of the Southern Africa Development Community Countries (SADC).
