UNDP transfers technical means of the Capacity Development Project of INAD Luanda, 23 July 2012 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has transferred on Friday, July 20, in Luanda, to the National Demining Institute (INAD), technical means used as part of the capacity development project of the Angolan institution.
"The presence of landmines and explosive remnants of war restricts the freedom of people and goods, prevents the reconstruction of the railway network and the provision of water and electricity throughout the country. On the other hand, increases the vulnerability of rural communities to reduce access to basic social services as health and education, "explained It is for this reason that since 2003, the UNDP decided to support the efforts of the Angolan Executive in mine action, by establishing a partnership with INAD, to increase their management capacity and training of its technicians, as well as contribute to the improving their operational capability.
On his side, the Director General of the National Demining Institute, Leonardo Sapalo Severino said that the implementation of the UNDP project, his organization, as public operator for Humanitarian Demining, has developed a training manual for his staff and operators of the action against mines in the country as well as improving their equipment and deployment of technical staff knowledgeable.
