UNDP reinforce the capacity of municipal administrators

Uíge, 7 November 2008 – Provincial directors, municipal and communal administrators of the province of Uíge in the north of Angola attended a training seminar on decentralization, planning and public administration.

This exercise aims to develop, institutionalise and extend in other municipalities of Angola a model of decentralization and local governance based on best practices and best lessons from the Decentralization and Local Governance Project with the support of the UNDP.

This project’s objective is to reinforce the capacity of municipal administrations to provide basic services to the population, to effectively program and execute budgets.

In a closing ceremony UNDP officers donated one car, motorcycles and equipment as computers, printers and photocopiers to the local administration.
