Country Studies

Exercising Ownership

The seven country studies, conducted in collaboration with Harvard University, provide ground- level evidence of successes and failures in TC and offer a framework for testing the feasibility, efficiency and sustainability of innovative alternatives and options for true ownership in capacity building.

Each country study depicts a picture of TC on the ground in different contexts, providing a clearer view of the factors and conditions for successes and failures of TC and the possible sources for change and resistance to reform of TC practice. Each study identifies innovative approaches, lessons and recommendations.

Draft executive summaries are available on each study page. The findings of the country-level research are presented in Developing Capacity through Technical Cooperation: Country Experiences.
