UNDP ACT Podcast InitiativeUNDP-ACT has located strategic communications at the heart of its programmatic work and operations. The main objective of this is to emphasize various communication methods as a means to bring Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots together, and to assist in the establishment of a climate of constructive dialogue and collaboration. One of the main objectives is to explore new communication technologies that can provide support to people working in existing NGOs that are accessible and feasible for people in the community as a whole to explore. One such technology is podcasting, which can be carried out through the internet. Podcasting is a form of narrowcast media that has become increasingly popular over the last five years. While it may not replace conventional radio as a mass medium of communication, it is fast becoming an accessible and expressive media for individuals and organisations alike. Podcasting is a new media communication tool that is relatively inexpensive and easy to produce. Podcasts can be downloaded from websites, media sites and blogs all over the world and are an excellent way to reach new and special interest audiences. In a fast-paced world, podcasts allow people to listen to topics of interest while on the go on a simple MP3 device or from their personal computers. Podcasting is a communication tool that has infinite creative possibilities both for the producer and the listener. Just Added
