Kashambuzi
Eric
Kashambuzi, Ugandan, graduated in Geography,
Economics, Demography, and International
Law and Diplomacy. He taught at the Universities
of Addis Ababa and Nairobi in Ethiopia and
Kenya respectively. He worked as an Economist
in the East African Community and in the
African, Caribbean and Pacific States Secretariat.
He worked with United Nations Development
Program (UNDP) in Ethiopia, Zambia, Swaziland
and in New York covering Country and Regional
Programs activities, working closely with
governments, NGOs and CSOs, UN agencies,
regional and sub-regional organizations
such as the African Development Bank, Economic
Commission for Africa, the Organization
of African Unity (now African Union), Southern
African Development Community (SADC), Economic
Community of West African States (ECOWAS),
Economic Community of Central African States
(ECCAS) and Inter-governmental Authority
on Development (IGAD). He also covered other
activities including the work of the General
Assembly, Economic and Social Council, Security
Council and the Executive Board of UNDP
and UNFPA. Currently he is Policy Adviser
and Manager of Pilot Country activities
in the Millennium Project. He has authored
four books on African development challenges
and opportunities.
